  1. The Amps Pacer On g Vinyl LP. The one and only full length from Kim Deal's post-Pixes and Breeders group, released in Though The Amps were originally intended to be a solo project for Deal, they quickly developed into a full fledged band, recording tunes that were slated to be part of the 3rd, never recorded, Breeders' album. Sloppy, raucous, and life-affirming rock and roll that owes.

  4. Personally, I don't care much for side one. "Pacer" and "Tipp City" are great retro songs, capitalizing on Kim's sound, but I've always felt "I am Decided" and "Mom's Drunk" just don't quite capture it. "Full on idle", however captures a very atmospheric, darker country edge of reality, prozac nation kind of vibe. It's a good record, overall.
  5. The Amps toured throughout and Early performances, before releasing Pacer, included June–July shows in Dayton: one with Guided by Voices and another with Poster Children. They toured with Guided by Voices and Chavez in the United Kingdom in September, in cities such as Sheffield, Glasgow, Brighton, and London; Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders attended the London .
  6. Released in the immediate aftermath of the runaway success of The Breeders’ platinum-selling second album, Last Splash, and the Pixies calling it a day the first time round, The Amps are an important part of the Kim Deal canon. First intended as a solo project, The Amps instead grew into a fully-fledged band with Jim MacPherson from The Breeders joining on drums and Dayton, OH musicians Luis.
  7. The Amps Miscellaneous Full On Idle Say you're one man's taste "Want what?" Fall and break We've seen the dream, folks, in our day What? Fought The Father the Pope Finally sent away Warden, lock it Free love's fought our battles thru the day We were full on idle, A lot of them say, "Obey your colorist, Bleach it all away Free reign, good rest.
  8. Jun 17,  · Pacer sounds and feels like a Breeders project in all but name. Kim Deal has basically made a Breeders album while the whole band wanted time off in , so out of respect for them, Kim made an album (with the partial band) and just named it something else.4/5().
